Saturday, September 5th 2026, Edmonton's first mountain bike skills park opens to the public.

Join us at Queen Elizabeth Park, for a full day of riding, community, competitions, and family-friendly activities in the heart of Edmonton's river valley.

WHERE & WHEN

📅 Saturday, September 5th

11:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Free to attend and open to riders, families, spectators, and community members of all ages!

We’re packing the day with activities for all ages and riding styles. The celebration will begin with a formal ribbon cutting ceremony, then shift into family friendly activities for the afternoon. As day breaks into evening, programming intensifies for more experienced riders.

Full Event Itinerary

11:00 AM Gates Open

Swing by the EMBA to sign up for races, grab some free swag, and get your name in the draws for door prizes. Sign up for our email list at our booth and learn about the benefits of signing up for an EMBA membership!

11:00 AM Kids Zone & Bike Decorating Station Opens

Face painting, hula hoops, bubbles, balloon animals, and lawn games all day long. Decorate your bike or make "Send It" and "Go Fast" signs/posters for the Jump Jam.

12:00 PM Official Ribbon Cutting & Opening Ceremony

This is it! The moment we've been building toward! City officials, media, and the EMBA crew gather to officially kick off Edmonton's Bike Park, followed by a huge thank-you to the volunteers, sponsors, and funders who made it happen.

1:00 PM The Grand Train

A massive group ride down Won't Die (green flow trail) led by our partners and EMBA’s volunteer crew. All are invited to ride. Don't miss this one, it's going to be a sight!

1:30 PM Kids Pump Track Race

High-energy racing for our youngest riders, with every participant walking away with a sticker or prize. Stick around for the Bike Parade at 2:00 PM to show off those decorated rides.

2:00 PM Bike Parade

All ages parade on the gravel path to showcase bikes and riders. Bring your own decorations, or stop by the bike decorating station to prepare your ride.

2:30 PM Amateur Flow Relay Race

Get your team together for timed relay laps down Won't Die (green flow trail). This is for riders of every skill level. Throw on your best costume and get ready for bonus points for the best dressed team!

3:30 PM  Track Stand Competition

Think you've got balance? Join the track stand competition as the circle slowly shrinks and see who can hold it the longest.

4:00 PM Jump Jam

The main event. Big air, music cranked, and Edmonton's best riders showing off. This is the one you'll want your camera ready for. Don't forget to make/bring signs of encouragement for our competitors in the kids zone before the event!

5:30 PM Door Prize Draws

Race winners take the stage and get their moment in the spotlight, then we dig into the good stuff — sponsor prize draws. You'll want to stick around for this one.

6:30 PM Golden Hour Shred The trails stay open for public riding in that perfect evening light. Come get some laps in as the sun goes down.

7:30 PM Evening Social

Wind the day down with music, good company, and the community that built this park.

9:00 PM Event Ends

Like all city parks, the bike park is open daily until 11pm, but Grand Opening festivities will officially wrap up at 9PM.

Whether you’re coming to ride, watch, volunteer, or simply enjoy the atmosphere, there’ll be something happening all day long.

What to Bring

Refillable water bottle

We’ll have a water tank on site for refills provided by EPCOR's Glass of the Sask initiative. Bring snacks or hit up one of our food vendors on site, or après favs within pedaling distance of the park (list of après favs and food trucks coming soon, stay tuned).

Sunscreen, a hat, and bug spray

You're spending the day outside in the river valley, so come prepared.

A lawn chair or picnic blanket and shade

If you want a spot to post up and watch the action. Consider that there isn't a ton of shade at the bike park and plan accordingly.

Your team costume

For the 2:30 PM Amateur Flow Race. Seriously, don't forget this one! Bonus points to teams who show up DRESSED up.

No outside alcohol

To keep things safe and inclusive, alcohol won't be served or permitted on site.
