After months of planning and progress on site, we’re ready to kick off the first volunteer build day of the 2026 Edmonton Bike Park season.

đź“… Saturday, May 9, 2026

This marks the start of the next major push toward opening Edmonton’s first purpose-built mountain bike skills park — and we’re inviting the community to be part of it.

🌱 A New Season of Building

The site has already come a long way.

Flow trails are taking shape, the skills area is progressing, and the overall layout of the park is becoming more defined each week.

Now we’re entering the phase where volunteer effort has a direct, visible impact — refining trails, shaping features, and helping bring everything together. 🔧 What We’ll Be Working On

This first build day will include a mix of tasks across the site:

  • Trail building and surface shaping

  • Buffing rollers, berms, and transitions

  • Supporting skills area construction

  • Moving dirt into jump lines

  • Wood work support and site prep

  • General cleanup and finishing work

There will be a variety of work available, and no experience is required.

Volunteer leads will help get everyone set up and working on something meaningful.

⏱ New for 2026: Split Shift Structure

To make build days more flexible and efficient, we’re introducing two staggered Saturday shifts:

🌅 Morning Crew

10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

🌇 Afternoon Crew

12:00 PM – 3:00 PM

This new structure allows:

  • More people to participate throughout the day

  • Better distribution of volunteers across tasks

  • A smoother flow of work with overlap between crews

  • Reduced fatigue for volunteers

👉 Please sign up for one shift only

đź‘· No Experience Needed

Whether you’ve built trails before or this is your first time — you’re welcome.

We’ll have:

  • Tools on site

  • Defined work areas

  • Volunteer leads to guide each crew

What to bring:

  • Closed-toe shoes (required)

  • Weather-appropriate clothing

  • Water

  • Work gloves (recommended)

🤝 Why It Matters

This project has been years in the making.

The Edmonton Bike Park is designed to:

  • Support rider progression

  • Create a welcoming space for new riders

  • Improve trail experiences across the city

Volunteer days like this are what make it possible.

Every berm shaped, every rock removed, every shovel full of dirt moves us closer to opening day.

📣 Get Involved

If you’ve been following the project, this is your chance to be part of building it.

🔜 What’s Next

This is just the beginning.

Volunteer build days will continue through the spring and summer as we work toward completion.

Each one builds on the last.

We’re excited to get started.

See you out there.
